Thursday, May 20, 2010
Main Street from Highland Avenue west to Munson Street then south to Montague City Road

Friday, May 21, 2010
Montague City Road from Deerfield Street to Mountain Road then Camp Avenue to Temple Avenue

Weather Dependent:  If weather is inclement the first day then flushing will start second day, etc.

Note:  Please be aware that your tap water may be a little discolored in the afternoon.  We encourage homeowners to run the water to clear up any discoloration prior to drinking the water or doing laundry.

Hydrants are flushed for two reasons.  First, it ensures high quality water by removing any sediment, particularly from dead ends, that may have entered the system from rusting pipework, water main breaks etc.  Second, during flushing every fire hydrant in Town is exercised.  This is good for the hydrant and is also a means to identify malfunctioning hydrants so they can be repaired before being needed in an emergency situation.
