RE: CURBSIDE COLLECTION OF TREES AND BRUSH
June 20, 2010 will be the last day residents can place storm damage curbside for collection by the DPW. Existing material will be collected, but material placed curbside after that date will not be collected.
The only material that should be placed curbside is material that is the result of damage from last month’s storm. Material that is clearly from gardening and routine trimming will not be collected. As is always the case, this can be brought to the Transfer Station. In addition, this collection program is for residents only, not commercial entities.
The DPW would like to thank the public for their patience in awaiting collection. Until the past few days, the Department has been focusing on removal of trees and hanging limbs that were severely compromised during the storm since they represent an immediate threat to public safety. Because we only have one log truck, tree work and collection of debris can not be done simultaneously.
