Greenfield Community
November 30, 2009 Public Hearing for the Community Development Block Grant

The Town of Greenfield, through the Department of Planning and Community Development, will hold a public hearing to allow for citizen participation in determining community needs for the FY 2010 Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) in the Town of Greenfield and to allow for citizen comments on the Community Development Strategy to be included in the Town’s FY 2010 CDBG Mini-Entitlement Program application.  The hearing will be held Monday, November 30, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Greenfield Police Station Meeting Room located at 321 High Street, Greenfield, MA

This meeting will also provide an opportunity for citizens and organizations to describe the needs of low and moderate-income Greenfield residents and to suggest projects that could use CDBG funds to meet those needs. Such CDBG funds must either eliminate slums and blight or provide a direct benefit to persons of low or moderate income. Eligible activities include economic development, downtown revitalization, micro-business assistance, public infrastructure, neighborhood revitalization, social services and housing rehabilitation.

Any person or organization present will be given the opportunity to comment at the hearing.  The Town will make every attempt to provide interpretive and translation services, if necessary, upon one weeks advance request.  The Community Development Strategy will be available for review in the Mayor’s Office or in the Department of Planning and Development after November 18, 2009.  Comments may be submitted in writing to Alice Connelley at the Department of Planning and Development, 14 Court Square, Greenfield, MA 01301 or e-mail to
