DIRECTOR

Full Time – Benefited Position

Experienced and dynamic administrator / manager sought to direct and perform highly responsible professional, administrative and supervisory work to plan, organize, direct, coordinate and control all functions and activities of the Public Works Department including Engineering, Water and Wastewater treatment, distribution and collection; Highway/Bridge, Parks/Forestry, Traffic, Solid Waste and Transfer Station, Recycling and Hazardous Waste programs, Capital Projects, and providing technical assistance to various municipal boards

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, public administration, management or a closely related field; 7-10 years of professional and engineering, management and administrative experience, preferably including experience in municipal public works with 2 years as a director or assistant director.

Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver license, registration as a Professional Engineer, Registered Sanitarian, and/or licensed water and wastewater operator is desirous.  Some evening work is required to attend meetings and hearings or as response to major emergency events.

Must demonstrate track record of high level responsibility with supervisory experience.  Must demonstrate leadership skills in the context of formal organizations.

ENERGY / SUSTAINABILITY ASSISTANT

Responsible for a wide variety of administrative, technical, and support work related to the operation of the Energy/Sustainability department.  Assists in the design and implementation of innovative and effective programs and policies to achieve energy and resource sustainability for municipal, commercial and residential sectors within the city. Bachelor’s in related field with minimum of 2 years in energy management; environmental, climate change, or sustainability programs or combination of any relevant education and experience that qualifies.

Server/Desktop Support Specialist
Town of Greenfield
Full Time – Benefited Position

Responsible for support of server/desktop operating systems, hardware configuration, webpage, and user support, including scheduling and maintaining existing operational functions, responding to non-scheduled service calls, diagnosing and resolving operating issues, and supporting and developing new system project plans. Installs and maintains server and desktop systems, related components, peripherals, operations systems, configurations, utilities, office automation and other applications; provides support for Microsoft office automation applications.  Connects server and desktop to networks and other interoperable devices and peripherals.  Performs or coordinates server and desktop installation and maintenance.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or five years of proven experience, or a combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
Experience in assisting users remotely and onsite is required.   2 years experience: troubleshooting network connectivity and VPN related issues; basic routing and switching concepts; Windows Server administration; incident management; Server, Desktop and Microsoft Office (all versions) troubleshooting; Laptop, Desktop and Server hardware support.  Knowledge of Office365 preferred.

Highly responsible administrative and prosecutorial duties serving as department’s primary liaison to the District and Superior Courts and District Attorney’s Office in the coordination and prosecution of all criminal, non-criminal and civil cases involving the department.   Computer experience in windows environment necessary with database and report knowledge.  Five years office experience with police or legal office experience preferred.  Associates degree in criminal justice, management or other relevant field, bachelor degree preferred.  Must pass background check.  
Must have excellent customer service skills.

HEALTH INSPECTOR

Full Time (37.5 hours) - Benefited Position

Responsible for the investigation of complaints of unsanitary conditions, practices and nuisances affecting the public’s health.  Conducts inspections in food establishments, housing, swimming pools, recreational camps; performs Title V septic system installation inspections, plan review and percolation tests; lead paint determinations as needed. Public Health or Environmental Science degree and background preferred.  Registered Sanitarian, Soil Evaluator and Lead Paint Determinator’s credentials preferred or willing and eligible to obtain.

Greenfield Public Library
Library Assistant

Greenfield Public Library is looking for a technologically savvy person to help spread the word about the ways in which we are pushing the boundaries of what a library can be. We need a team player with critical-thinking skills who is experienced in both social and traditional media; someone who embraces change; loves working with the public, and is comfortable teaching technology to people of all skill levels. In addition to publicity and technology, this starting-level 34-hour-a-week position will include hours on the library service desks.~ Saturdays and three evenings will be part of the regular scheduled shift. HVACR TECHNICIAN
Full Time Benefited Position

Responsible for troubleshooting, installation, repair, maintenance and inspection of all HVACR equipment and associated machinery and systems in Town and School facilities.  Must have three to five years experience in related work; possess strong mechanical aptitude, demonstrate satisfactory computer skills, and be self-motivated and directed.  Possession of certification or ability to obtain certification from an accredited institution as a HVAC Technician is preferred. May assist licensed plumber as necessary. Other laborer duties as assigned. May be required to be on-call for emergency situations outside of normal working hours.  Must possess valid MA driver’s license.
