Assistant to the Mayor for Economic Development and Marketing

Full Time

Seeking highly responsible and skilled professional to perform highly responsible administrative work and support functions for the Mayor in coordinating complex policy directions, public relations, communications, and economic development and marketing activities attracting new businesses, industries and investments and retaining existing business and industries in the Town of Greenfield.  Provides staff assistance for other project-driven programs in the Office of the Mayor.  Acts as Mayor’s principle representative before developers, boards, committees, commissions, agencies, and businesses; frequent contact with local, state, and regional officials as well as the Town’s Planning, Conservation and ZBA boards.  Must possess high degree of diplomacy, judgment, discretion and negotiating skills.  Relevant college degree and five years of progressive responsibility in a related field; municipal setting preferred.

Town of Greenfield
LOCAL BUILDING INSPECTOR / CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
Part Time Position (up to 19 hrs/week)
Tuesday – Friday work schedule

Responsible for routine, semi-complex or complex administrative, technical, and customer service work related to the interpretation and enforcement of inspection of buildings to ensure compliance with all applicable state and local building and zoning codes.  Reports to the Inspector of Buildings.  Position requires broad knowledge of building construction and from three (3) to five (5) years experience and general knowledge of the accepted requirements of building construction, fire prevention, light, ventilation and safe egress.  Applicant(s) must hold an unrestricted Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License, must be currently certified or have been approved by the State Certification Committee to become certified as a Local Inspector, and a valid MA operator's license.
