Transfer Station Operation
DIVISION FUNCTIONS:
The Solid Waste and Recycling Division of the Department of Public Works performs curbside rubbish and recycling collections, operates the Transfer Station and daily transports rubbish and recyclable materials to their disposal/processing centers in Springfield. Our current recycling rate is 41% and we continually strive to increase this number. The Transfer Station provides a drop-off location for residents to properly dispose of items not collected curbside such as computers, mattresses, demolition material, brush and hazardous wastes such as paint and waste oil.
